KARNATAKA, KERALA AND LAKSHADWEEP |

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS
RECORDED AT 0830 HRS IST:
Southwest Monsoon
has been vigorous over interior Karnataka and active over coastal Andhrapradesh,
Rayalaseema and coastal Karnataka.
Rainfall occurred
at most places over Rayalaseema, Karnataka and Kerala, at many places over Coastal Andhrapradesh and at
a few places over Tamilnadu and Lakshadweep. Isolated rainfall occurred over
Telangana.
The following stations
recorded very heavy to heavy rainfall in centimetres:
Kollur (Udupi dt)
25, Kottigehara (Chickmagalur dt) 21, Talaguppa (Shimoga dt) 18, Yellapura
(Uttara Kannada dt) 16, Bhagamandala (Kodagu dt) 15, Siddapura (Udupi dt),
Bhatkal (Uttara Kannada dt) and Sakleshpura (Hassan dt) 13 each, Kalingapatnam
12, Mudibidre (Dakshina Kannada dt), Shirali and Honavar 11 each, Belgaum
Airport and Kasargod 10 each, Mani and Puttur (Both
Dakshina Kannada dt), Karkala (Udupi dt), Madikeri, Humchadakatte (Shimoga
dt), Jayapura and Koppa (Both Chickmagalur dt) 9 each, Dharmasthala (Dakshina
Kannada dt), Karwar, Banavasi and Haliyal and
Kiravatti (All Uttara Kannada dt) and Madapura (Kodagu dt) 8 each and Udupi,
Kundapur (Udupi dt), Somwarpet (Kodagu dt), Cannur
and Visakhapattinam 7 each.
The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in centimetres are:-
Mulki (Dakshina Kannada dt), Mangalore Airport Kozhikode, Kozhikode
Airport and Palasa (Srikakulam dt) 6 each, Panambur,
Mundagod (Uttara Kannada dt), Haveri, Shiggaon (Haveri dt), Shikaripure (shimoga dt),
Manjeri and Perinthalamanna (Malapuram dt),Thrithala
(Palakkad dt), Vaikom (Kottayam dt) and Visakhapattinam
Airport 5 each, Valparai (Coimbatore dt), Tekkali and Sompeta (Both Srikakulam dt), Gokak (Belgaum dt),
Dharwad, Hubli (Dharwad dt), N.R Pura (Chickmagalur dt) 4 each, Nanguneri
(Tirunelveli dt), Vizianagaram, Mandasa (Srikakulam
dt), Gajapathinagaram and
Salur (both Vizianagaram dt), Ichapuram, Ranasthalam (Srikakulam dt), Kunnamkulam (Thrissur
dt), Bhadrachalam, Gulbarga, Hassan, Bandipura (Chamrajnagar dt) and Kavarathi
3 each, Senkottai (Tirunelveli dt), Kanyakumari, Kuzhithurai (Kanyakumari
dt), Parvathipuram and S Kote (both Vizianagaram dt), Veeraghattam and Patapatinam ( both Srikakulam dt), Tuni, Hakimpet
Airport, Sangareddy and Ramayampet
( both Medak dt), Rabkavi
(Bagalkote dt), Gadag, Nagathan (Bijapur dt), Sedam
and Kalgi ( both Gulbarga dt), Holalur (Shimoga dt), Hospet (Bellary dt) Devangere,
Kollengode (Palakkad dt), Kochi Airport, CIAL Kochi, Thodupuzha (Idukki dt)
and Varkala (Thiruvananthapuram dt) 2 each and Thenkasi
(Tirunelveli dt), Mylaudy, Nagerkoil, Boothapandy
and Thuckalay (all Kanyakumari dt), Pollachi (Coimbatore dt), Rajapalayam,
Sivakasi and Srivilliputhur (all Virudhunagar dt), Guntur, Bobbilli, Terlam and Cheeppurapalli ( all Vizianagaram dt), Chintalapudi (West Godavari dt), Koyyalagudem (West Godavari dt), Gannavaram, Palakonda (Srikakulam dt), Amalapuram
and Prathipadu (both East Godavari dt), Mangalagiri and Thenali
( both Guntur dt), Addanki (Prakasam dt), Nagarjunasagar
Dam and Bhongiri ( both Nalgonda dt), Yellandu,
Dummagudem, Perur and Venkatapuram
( all Khammam dt), Khammam Golkonda
(Hyderabad dt), Shadnagar, Wanapathi and Kodangal ( all Mahbubnagar
dt), Eturnagaram (Warangal dt), Holagunda (Kurnool
dt), Jamakandi (Bagalkote dt), Nargund (Gadag
dt), Kakkeri (Gulbarga dt), Taveregere (Koppal dt), Raichur, Lingadahalli and Tarikere (both
Chickmagalur dt), M.M Hills (Chamaraja Nagara dt) Santhebennur and Harapanahalli
( Both Davengere dt), Thiruvananthapuram, Thiruvananthapuram
Airport and Aminidivi 1 each.
WEATHER FORECAST
VALID UNTIL THE MORNING OF 26th JUNE 2007:
Rain or thundershowers
are likely to occur at most places over coastal Karnataka, at many places over north
Coastal Andhrapradesh, Interior Karnataka and Kerala and at a few places over
South Tamilnadu, south coastal Andhrapradesh, Telangana, Rayalaseema and Lakshadweep.
Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over North Tamilnadu
and Puducherry.
HEAVY RAINFALL
WARNING:
Isolated heavy
rain is likely to occur over coastal Karnataka and Kerala during the next
48 hours.
FORECAST FOR CHENNAI
CITY AND NEIGHBOURHOOD VALID UNTIL THE MORNING OF 26th JUNE 2007:
Partly cloudy.
Possibility of shower or thundershower in some
areas.

Light to moderate
rain is likely to occur at a few places over Ramanathapuram, Tirunelveli,
Tuticorin, Kanyakumari, Madurai, Theni,
Sivagangai, Dindigul And Virudhunagar districts of Tamilnadu
and in Puducherry. Isolated light to moderate rain is also likely to occur
over rest Tamilnadu.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT
